a couple of upgrades for this awesome car

Post  hmmguy1 on Sat 13 Dec - 1:23

Hey there folks, I made a few changes to this car starting with a much more aggressive sound. I also made adjustments to the tyr file so as to not fry the existing tires used and I renamed it so as to not interfere with any other cars using that same file. Lastly, I made a small change to bring the engine's torque and redline into spec based on what I have read about it. The sounds come from a sound pack simply called "GT3 Soundpack" and there weren't any credits within it. I removed most all of the unneeded sounds and aud files it came with. If anyone knows the name of whomever it was that created these sounds/pack, please let me know so as I may attribute it to them. I make no claim to them whatsoever as being mine. I also made a change to the grb file so as to be able to have a broader ability to set the gearing better. Lastly, along with the renamed tyr file, I also applied the new name within the hdc file so as to use them. Lastly, I made an alteration to the 4WD segment of the hdc as well so as to get a bit better turn in under throttle.

Here is the link for the changed car files and they go as is to your Teams folder and overwrite where asked. If you don't like these altered files after installing them, simply reinstall and overwrite with the original mod files.

This is the link for the new sounds and are to be placed into your GameData folder and overwrite where asked

Really?? Cool! The only thing different with these 2 hdc files is that I put the weight, inertias, spring rates and CGHeight back to what they originally were in in the previous link. If anybody wants the hdc Always Something Rootie Tootie is referring to, it's here

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7Kausx0sbuLT3prWE9oNGY3VVE/view?usp=sharing

What I changed in this hdc vs the one in the other link is that the car now has the weight (mass) I saw it continuously stated as being which meant increasing it by 370kg to it's claimed 1600kg. I altered the inertias a bit but confess that I have no idea as to if it's in any way accurate to the real car nor better/worse. I noticed I was already bottoming out when the car was at the lighter weight and the car was leaning so much in hard turns that I lowered the CGHeight from 325 down to 250. I also increased the spring rates to try to lessen the bottoming out more. Those are the differences between the hdc in the other link and this one. Both hdc files have the same 4WD segment change.

@ Ron, Thanks for a great car, real fun to thrash around in. @ Phil thanks for the updates, I'll give them a try the next time I turn on my gaming PC.

BTW Has anyone else noticed a smell of tire smoke with a hint of roasted berries? I've been noticing that smell for the last couple of days.

I wanted to mention that I think I figured out where the sound came from that I offered as an alternate for this car. It seems it was originally used for a Nissan GTR released by speedster63 and the sounds referred to as being from the "GT3 SoundPack by TrulliTrain/Simtek".
