hmm...this begs the question then to Ron...will there be a second issue with a NASCAR engine/tire upgrade. Just under 460hp does'nt seem sufficient for the ovals...especially Daytona/Taladega scratch Thinking the hp on the track car should be closer to 600 as per this quote from this article... http://www.hotrod.com/web/113_0508_wing/viewall.html "We were running around 585 to 595 horsepower in our race engines."

This jump in power may yield more realistic Daytona/Taladega speeds of 200+mph bounce I haven't found anything regarding tire upgrades for the track car but I have to think they were bigger than the street tires Suspect lol!
edit:...D'oh! the current gear set tops out at 185mph

Excellent link !
I found two other ones also :
The Plymouth Superbird and Dodge Charger Daytona

I reviwed the car spec files... and Ron defyed me to prsent/show my "remodeling" ... this one is closer to the real car... more weight.. (the car weighs almost 1.900kg) a more correct engine... I found information about the most powerfull Daytona being powered at 475hp at 5000rpm.... corrected the car Drag Coeficient.. (this car was revolutionary at the time by having a CD of 0,28!!), also got info about the correct tyre size... and... introduced on the hdc file the influence of the front and rear wings that it has...

I changed 5 files.. (HDC, TYR, ENG, GRB and.. AUD: the max RPM droped 2000rpm so I needed to change AUD file slightly)... The result is here: mediafire.com ?nn0xcweed8kn48m You may find the car more difficult to drive.. or not... but one thing I beleive is that the behaviour must be closer to the real one... then before...)

I lso found this interesting... do you now that a "replica" of this car apears.. on "Fast and Furious 6"?? Info about this here:

Yes! What he said and also to 52Ned
By fiddling with the info from both of you, I put the weight and hp
as 52Ned pointed out although, I bumped it to 595, and the drag coefs,
gear file and tires from zeferino

I got the car doing 205mph at the end of the back straight on Daytona!
Very Happy

It may be so.. but... aal info found actually, fall on weight around 1900 kg, Hp less then 475 hp... but max speed would be around those 330 km/h that Ned pointed out... so.. I must say I strongly doubt Ned´s data... except for max speed... Smile

Man.. they must be already a bit yellowish.. no?? Well like now... in old times.. publicity allways falled to some exageration... anyway... I ve also read that there are doubts about the dyno value results for some of those engines ( 426 Hemi 426 cu in (7.0 L) V8 and 440 Magnum 440 cu in (7.2 L) V8) at that time... and I ashure you that al data that I found on the internet pointed to a weight very close to 1900 kg...

Horsepower ratings have changed since the cars were built/tested, they used to measure at the crank, it
has since been changed to measuring at the rear wheels, "gross" vs "net" hp.......
